Special Announcement: Passing of Dr. Forrest Bird - August 2, 2015

BIRD AVIATION MUSEUM - WASP CELEBRATION - July 15-18, 2010

SCHEDULE

Background

This is the year of celebration, and we, as Founders of the Bird Aviation Museum and Invention Center, want to personally invite you to an event that will honor WASPS and all women who have or are serving in the U.S. military. WASPS pioneered the way for many others.

We are hosting this event primarily in your honor and hope you can attend. Our community has united with many organizations to honor you. The event will be a rare opportunity for you, family and guests, to meet, mingle and have fun with your long-time friends. The museum is located in the mountains of North Idaho overlooking beautiful Lake Pend Orielle.

For additional information on my husband and I, you can see the museum website at www.birdaviationmuseum.com or www.inventone.com (my company) or www.percussionaire.com (Forrest's info) or one can google Forrest Bird (inventor/aviator, etc.) and info will come up. We are simply two people trying to make a difference. By the way, the museum is free to all those who pass through its portals.

Our community is behind this and welcomes the WASP. The community is excited about this event. I think the educational part is the utmost importance that is why we have put forth effort to host this event. The 99's, Shriners, EAA, Friends of Sandpoint Airport, Spokane Antique Aviation Community, the Community Assistance League will all be involved and it will be fun. This event will give the WASP time to be together and simply have fun (Friday and Saturday nights) plus a meet and greet to the community. Thanks for your help and see attached as well. By the way, the lodge is located on the lake. Lake Pend Orielle has about 110 miles of coastline, it is 2nd deepest to Crater lake, about 2,000 feet deep, and has four submarines. The Luau on Friday night should be really nice. On Saturday, the evening just for WASP and families, I think I call it, "GIRLS JUST WANT TO HAVE FUN!!" What do you think? Any help, publicity, anything you do is truly truly appreciate. Please pass on to whomever you think it appropriate. Thank you.

We think you’'ll find Sandpoint an incredible town and the museum a rare treat! (Info Sheet) All dinners and events are at no cost to you, your family or guests. We look forward to seeing you there. A formal invitation will follow; however, we want you to mark your calendar for this special date. The nearest airport is Spokane, Washington. Also, a limited number of host families have extended an invitation for WASPS to stay with them while attending this special event. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to call 208-255-4321 X 223. Pamela Riddle Bird

Sincerely,
