Geraldine "Gerri" Bowen Olinger: Another Chancellor Place Resident - Oral History available at Texas Woman's University, 2006 - Women air pilots - 102 pages /
discusses her childhood and growing up as a minister's daughter. While working at Douglas Aircraft, she earned her private pilot's license. She entered WASP training at Avenger Field, Sweetwater, Texas, class 44-W-7. After training, she was assigned to Douglas Army Air Base in Arizona as a utility pilot. While at Douglas, she flew B-25s as well as UC-78s. After the WASP program was disbanded, Olinger returned to California where she worked for the May Company Department Store in the junior executive training program. She describes her twenty-five year career in the television industry and her world travels.
